Here at the realbuzz store, we passionately believe in the importance of getting behind young athletes in their quest to achieve greatness.
That’s why we partnered with SportsAid to create The Realbuzz Foundation. Founded in 1976, SportsAid is the UK’s leading supporter of young athletes. They help the stars of the future by sourcing the funds they need to cover training and competition costs such as travel, accommodation, physio and equipment.
SportsAid’s research shows that a lack of sufficient funding is the single greatest barrier to success for young athletes. We’re proud to be SportsAid’s single biggest corporate contributor towards disability athletes, of which there are 70, through The Realbuzz Foundation. Each Realbuzz Foundation athlete receives a financial award which they can put towards training and competing in their chosen sport however they choose.
We were able to see the real difference this funding makes when five of our Realbuzz Foundation athletes - Jack Rutter, Michael Barker, Liam Irons, Matt Crossen and Vanessa Daobry - took part in the Rio 2016 Paralympics. The amazing performances of these remarkable sportsmen and women on a global stage will help to inspire future generations of disabled athletes, and we’re thrilled to be able to play even a small part in that.
SportsAid has a proven track record of supporting disability sport with Tanni Grey-Thompson, Ellie Simmond, Ade Adepitan, Georgie Hermitage, David Weir and Sarah Storey all previous recipients of the charity’s help. During the Paralympics in Rio, SportsAid alumni contributed a total of 104 medals across 14 different sports as ParalympicsGB experienced its most successful Games since Seoul 1988.
However, we’re not stopping there. Our goal is to help even more athletes make it to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics by continuing to provide the financial support and stability they so desperately need. That’s why, whenever you make a purchase from the realbuzz store, you’re given the option to make a donation at the checkout to The Realbuzz Foundation.
The Realbuzz Foundation is completely not-for-profit - every single donation you make will be put towards supporting disabled athletes through SportsAid. If you believe in giving hardworking young talent a chance, then please donate what you can.
With your help, we can change more lives than ever before.
